In winter, explore the breathtaking beauty of the great Montana outdoors while cross country skiing or on a snowshoe hike. During the summer months, venture out on a mountain bike tour, shoot archery, learn the art of fly tying or explore the many other activities the season has to offer.

Ski & Snowboard Rentals

For guests traveling without equipment, Compass Sports offers premier ski and snowboard rentals across Sport, Performance and Demo categories. Enjoy a world class selection of Atomic, Bomber, Kästle, Stöckli, Arbor and Rossignol for the perfect lineup for riders of all levels. Guests enjoy seamless access to world-class terrain, with the added convenience of boot and ski valet service.

Compass Explorers

Our team will get your children ready and excited for their big day on the slopes, allowing parents to delight in their own plans while being reassured of their children’s well-being. They will gear up your Explorer with skis or snowboard, boots and snow gear and will personally accompany your Explorer to and from Montage Big Sky and Big Sky Resort’s Mountain Sports School at the Mountain Village Base. Available to resort guests ages 4-12 years old who have full day group ski or snowboarding lessons at Big Sky Resort. Reservations are required.

$125 per child*

*Price per child is exclusive of tax and service charge and rental equipment fees. Rental equipment must be reserved separately.

Guests must have lessons booked with Big Sky Resort’s Mountain Sports School at the Mountain Village Base.

Montage Youth Beginner Lessons

December 26 – January 2 | February 14 – 20

Full Day 9:30am – 3:30pm | Half Day 9:30am – 12:00pm

With two magic carpets just steps from Montage Big Sky, our Youth Beginner Lessons offer an accessible introduction for level one and level two skiers to learn foundational skills from Big Sky Resort’s expert ski instructors while the rest of the family explores the mountain’s vast terrain.
