Montage Big Sky Appoints Christian Maeder as General Manager

Big Sky, Mont. (November 30, 2025) – Montage Big Sky is pleased to announce the appointment of Christian Maeder as general manager, overseeing all aspects of operations across the resort. With more than 25 years of experience in luxury hospitality, Maeder steps into this new role after serving as the resort’s hotel manager since 2023, building on a longstanding tenure with Montage.

During his time as hotel manager at Montage Big Sky, Maeder played a pivotal role in advancing the resort’s service and management philosophy, introducing new food and beverage initiatives, and elevating the overall guest experience. Previously, he served as hotel manager at Montage Laguna Beach and held senior leadership roles at The Maybourne Beverly Hills, Four Seasons Resort The Biltmore Santa Barbara, The Setai Miami Beach, and Four Seasons Hotel New York. His career also includes experience at Mandarin Oriental Las Vegas, Claridge’s in London, and The Peninsula New York, further shaping his global perspective and operational expertise.

Born in Switzerland, Maeder earned his bachelor’s degree in hospitality management from the Swiss Hotel Management School Lucerne, with additional studies in financial management at Cornell University.
