Committed to honoring Baja’s natural beauty, integrity, and history, Twin Dolphin community adopts a holistic and environmentally sustainable approach to all our activities. We have recently marked a significant milestone by achieving the Gold-Level LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Certification for Existing Communities, distinguishing us as the sole master-planned community to earn this prestigious accolade in Mexico, and one of only two in the U.S.
This achievement reflects our steadfast commitment to sustainability, continually focusing on enhancing energy efficiency, water conservation, waste management, and the overall quality of life in our community. Utilizing advanced sustainable systems, we aim to minimize our carbon footprint and reliance on municipal services. Notably, solar panels on the roof of the employee parking lot now generate solar power for the resort.
Santa Maria Beach, a cherished part of the community, has maintained international Blue Flag Certification for six consecutive years, recognized for adhering to the highest environmental standards. Furthermore, it complies with all federal standards set by the Mexican Institute of Standardization and Certification, earning the prestigious “Playa Platino” designation.
In our ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship, Twin Dolphin has initiated the restoration of the natural coral reefs in Santa Maria Bay. This project focuses on cultivating new native coral species and reintroducing a diverse array of marine species to bolster the biodiversity of the bay.
Additionally, Twin Dolphin employs non-potable water sourced from our own desalination plant and wastewater treatment facilities to irrigate the Fred Couples Signature golf course and other landscaping, further underlining our commitment to sustainable resource management.
