Island Culture & Arts

Immerse yourself in the rich history and traditions of Maui with our diverse art and culture programming, suitable for all ages. Led by our Resort Cultural Ambassadors, you’ll explore our local culture and Aloha spirit through lei-making, ‘ukulele lessons, hula classes and more.

These are 1-hour experiences. The Island Culture & Arts experiences will begin at the Cultural Ambassador’s Lounge, located beside the resort lobby. Children 12 years old and younger must be accompanied by an adult.

Sunset Pool & Day Beds

Set within the tropical grounds of Montage Kapalua Bay and overlooking the Pacific Ocean, your private poolside haven awaits. Perfect for families, Poolside Daybeds are situated with premier access to the Sunset Pool and offer a blend of sun and shade—including a cozy interior daybed and two plush chaise lounge chairs—for those seeking both relaxation and comfort. Enjoy a tropical fruit platter and a dedicated poolside server as you unwind with signature tropical drinks and light island fare at the Hana Hou Bar.

Poolside Daybed reservations are available to rent at $400 per day, accommodate up to 4 guests, and begin at 9:00am. Reservations may be enjoyed for the entire day. Please check in for your reservation at the towel stand located on the lower pool deck at your convenience. Poolside Daybed reservations are exclusively available for registered hotel guests. Alternatively, the Beach Club also offers tropical drinks and light fare. Find relaxation in the infinity pool and whirlpool overlooking Kapalua Bay.

Electric Mountain Bike Rentals

Wind through the lush landscapes of Maui and seamlessly explore the stunning Kapalua Resort trails with our fleet of professional grade Scott Electric Mountain Bikes. The Kapalua Resort trails are accessible by a short bike ride away from the front drive of Montage Kapalua Bay. All electric mountain bike rentals include helmets, bike packs, locks, phone mounts and hydration.

Monday – Saturday | 9:00am – 3:00pm

Full-Day Rentals | $110 Per Guest

A helmet and backpack are included. Reservations are required 24 hours in advance for e-bike rentals. Late fee of $50 may apply.

Kapalua Coastal Trail Hike

Explore the natural wonders of Maui’s coastline. Led by a knowledgeable guide, discover the distinctive beauty of the lava fields at Hāwea Point and the vibrant waters of Oneloa Beach. Learn about the diverse marine life, coastal features and the unique Hawaiian ecosystem.

Resort guests are invited to enjoy complimentary guided hikes. All ages are welcome; young guests ages 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Closed-toed shoes are recommended and advance reservations are required.

Tidepool Exploration

Explore the vibrant aquatic ecosystem of Kuʻunaʻakaiʻole, located just in front of Montage Kapalua Bay. On a guided intercoastal adventure (suitable for all ages), you’ll encounter hermit crabs along the sandy shores, marvel at the delicate beauty of sea urchins and observe the graceful movements of sea cucumbers and other fascinating marine creatures.

Each activity encourages a love of Hawaii and time spent together – for every activity conquered, guests have the opportunity to earn a Montage Merit pin. Sunset Luau

As the sun disappears under peach-lavender skies, a conch sounds and the celebration begins. The Sunset Lūʻau at Kapalua Bay invites you to experience the warm hospitality and culture of Maui amidst the glow of tiki torches, live music and classic Hawaiian and Tahitian entertainment. The experience includes a welcome Mai Tai and a family-style multi-course feast, followed by traditional dance performances and a fire show for a memorable evening under the stars.

This is a 2-hour experience. The Sunset Luau at Kapalua Bay will begin at the Sunset Pool.

Road to Hana & Helicoptor Tours

Embark on an extraordinary adventure to explore the scenic and windy Road to Hana. Ali‘i Kula Lavender Farm
Make your way to Kula and visit the 13.5-acre farm, home to approximately 55,000 lavender plants and 45 different varieties of lavender. While lavender is not native to Maui, it has acclimated well to the majestic mountain slope with style and grace. Thriving in Kula’s Mediterranean climate, this locale is also rich in olive trees, hydrangea, protea, succulents and more.

Filled with fun and learning for the whole family! This dairy farm is one hour from the resort, on the slopes of Maui’s Haleakala Crater.

Maui Brewing Company
In 2005, they began their quest to brew handcrafted ales and lagers using the finest ingredients. Their brewpub sources as many local products as possible to ensure freshness; even the ketchup and mustard are house-made!

Ocean Vodka Organic Farm and Distillery
Situated on a breathtaking 80 acres on the slopes of Mount Haleakala, the home of Ocean Vodka captures panoramic views of both the north and south shores of Maui. It is easily reached from Maui’s international Kahului Airport. The tour includes a sampling with take-home souvenir OCEAN Organic Vodka shot glass for those 21 and over.
Guests must be able to walk 650 yards.

Maui’s Winery – Tedeschi Vineyards
In 1974, the winery, in collaboration with Ulupalakua Ranch, began growing grapes, remaining true to the area’s agricultural heritage. Take the scenic 1.5-hour drive to the beautiful upcountry roads and taste the varied selection of wines, including sparkling, pineapple, grape and our coveted raspberry dessert wine.

Fishing Experience at Montage Kapalua Bay

Sport Fishing

For the fishing enthusiast or the beginner, we can arrange a fully equipped fishing boat for you your family and friends. These fishing boats are used to pulling in the big prize. Private excursions for four to eight hour tours are available.

Tennis & Pickleball

Take the Kapalua Resort Shuttle to the Kapalua Tennis courts. Located just minutes from the resort, play at one of the top tennis destinations in the world. With its viewing lanai, eight dedicated Plexipave tennis courts, two blended tennis/pickleball courts, and four dedicated pickleball courts, Kapalua Tennis is fun for the whole family. Equipment rentals are available.
