May River Golf Course
The May River Golf Course, a Jack Nicklaus Signature design opened in 2005, offers an 18-hole layout that challenges golfers of all skill levels. Meandering through the scenic May River Forest, the course features wide, inviting fairways, strategic bunkers, and natural waste areas. Its Champions Bermuda greens, guarded by white-sand bunkers, test your nerves, while the gently undulating slopes demand precision in putting. Several holes are set along the sun-dappled river, showcasing the natural beauty that has earned the course a spot among the best in South Carolina, as recognized by GolfPass readers in the Golfer’s Choice Awards.
In partnership with the Palmetto Bluff Conservancy, the May River Golf Course has been certified by Audubon International as a Cooperative Sanctuary for wildlife and habitat management, environmental planning, outreach, and education. Spanning across the May River Forest neighborhood and surrounded by ancient oak trees, this 7,171-yard masterpiece is renowned for its eco-friendly Paspalum turf and imported bunker sand. In addition, the course follows the Conservancy’s guidance to protect the natural habitats of wildlife on and near the course.
Caddie service is required with each round, and we encourage you to walk the course so you can best appreciate the beautiful native landscape. Golf carts are available upon request.
May River Grill, located in the May River Golf Course clubhouse, provides an ideal setting for casual dining or post-round meals.
