Terms & Conditions

When you book a room through, we guarantee that you will be offered the best possible room rate. If within 24 hours of making your reservation you find a lower room rate for the same hotel, room type and reservation dates, please let us know. If we are able to verify your claim within 24 hours, we will match the lower room rate subject to the following terms and conditions:

  1. You must have a confirmed reservation made through
  2. When multiple rates for the same hotel, reservation dates, and room type are available through you must reserve the lowest rate to be eligible for the price match.
  3. You must find a lower, publicly available room rate (“Lower Rate”) on a non-opaque booking channel other than The Lower Rate must be for the same hotel and room type with a similar view and room size, with the same dates and length of stay, same number of guests, same advance purchase policy and cancellation designation, and the same terms and conditions governing the room rate. International websites are excluded from this program.
  4. You must complete and submit a claim form in accordance with the claim forms instructions. A claim form may be rejected by Montage if it is incomplete. The name on the submitted claim form must exactly match the name on the relevant confirmed reservation.
  5. You must submit your claim within 24 hours of making your reservation, and at least 24 hours prior to the standard check-in time on the day of your arrival at the hotel.
  6. The Lower Rate accommodations must be available for purchase at the Lower Rate when Montage seeks to validate your claim. Advertised or inquiry only rates do not qualify.
  7. Rate comparison will be made net of taxes, gratuities, service charges, early departure fees, resort fees or other fees and incidental charges. The estimated value of value-added amenities (g., free breakfast, tickets, gas coupons) offered as part of a Lower Rate will be excluded from the rate comparison (unless such amenities are also included in the applicable rate being offered on, and will not be provided by Montage when matching a Lower Rate.
  8. Montage may deny claims where the rate difference is primarily attributable to fluctuations, rounding and/or differences in currency exchange rates or where the difference between the rates is less than $2.
  9. You may submit only one claim for each stay. A “stay” means the total number of consecutive nights spent at the same hotel or resort by the same guest or guests. You must complete the stay.
  10. Montage may at any time, with or without notice, terminate or restrict a person’s ability to submit a claim under or otherwise benefit from the Best Rate Guarantee program if, in its sole discretion, Montage determines that such person has: (a) acted in a manner inconsistent with applicable laws or ordinances; (b) acted in a fraudulent or abusive manner; (c) submitted multiple invalid Best Rate Guarantee claims; (d) failed to stay at Montage after receiving approved Best Rate Guarantee claims; or (e) breached any of these terms and conditions.
  11. In the event that a Best Rate Guarantee claim is validated, Montage will adjust the rate on the confirmed reservation to the lowest available rate that Montage is able to verify, which rate may be different than the rate that was indicated on the applicable claim form.
  12. The Best Rate Guarantee does not apply to existing reservations that are not booked through, and Montage is not responsible for any fees associated with cancelling a reservation made through a different channel.
  13. The Best Rate Guarantee will be suspended during times where the or certain rates are not available due to an outage, a technical issue or a circumstance beyond Montage’s control.
  14. Montage may deny claims where the applicable Montage hotel or resort will no longer be operating as a Montage hotel or resort on the date of the stay in question.
  15. Montage has the sole right and discretion to determine the validity of any claim and will not review documentation provided by the individual submitting a claim as part of its validation process. Montage reserves the right to deny a claim, if it cannot independently verify the availability of a Lower Rate at the time it processes the claim.
  16. Any disputes arising out of or related to the Best Rate Guarantee or these terms and conditions shall be handled individually without any class action, and shall be governed by, construed and enforced in accordance with the laws of the State of California.
  17. Unless expressly prohibited by law, Montage reserves the right to amend, revise, supplement, suspend or discontinue the Best Rate Guarantee program and the terms and conditions at any time in its sole discretion and without prior notice.


Best Rate Guarantee does not apply to any of the following:

  • Reservations booked through any means other than
  • Prices available on “opaque” websites that do not provide the name or location of the hotel until the reservation is made (e.g.,,
  • Rates available on international websites.
  • Hotel packages or travel packages that may include hotel, airfare, car rental, food and beverage offers or other similar packages or amenities.
  • Rates not publicly available, such as negotiated corporate or group rates.
  • Rates requiring a paid membership in a club or other organization or a free membership in a club or other organization if such membership is contingent upon the member’s type of employment.
  • Package or group add-on rates that extend the length of a stay.
  • Rates negotiated for stays extending beyond 10 nights.
  • Rates available on auction sites or sites where reservation holders are re-selling confirmed reservations.
  • Reservations made within 24 hours of arrival.
  • Rates displayed on websites that do not provide the ability to make a reservation.
  • Rate disparities due to fluctuations, rounding or differences in currency exchange rates.
